We received an email from the director of the shelter where we adopted Atley<\/a> and Sweet Pea.\u00c2\u00a0 If you don’t remember, Atley was the 2nd dog we adopted (but the only one from the shelter).\u00c2\u00a0 He was a terrier, all white except for that totally cute black circle around one eye.\u00c2\u00a0 We had to give him back because he needed surgery to correct an old leg injury.\u00c2\u00a0 We had been assured that the injury was old and that his limping was just the way he was now.\u00c2\u00a0 This was not the case at all.\u00c2\u00a0 After having x-rays<\/a> taken, it was clear that this dog needed surgery if he was ever going to go full speed and not constantly injuring his leg.\u00c2\u00a0 We were not able to provide this for the dog and had to surrender him back to the shelter which broke our hearts.\u00c2\u00a0 The director emailed us to say that the shelter had amputated his leg, and that he was doing great.\u00c2\u00a0 She reported that he was in great spirits and moving like he’d always been a 3-legged dog.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m happy to hear that he got what he needed, and I really hope he finds his place in the world.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
